Since my employment with Samford I have gained experience in working with Blackboard, Moodle and now Canvas. I believe the learning in this course will greatly help me serve those around me in CHS. I’ve worked in the IT field for over 15 years which has covered both corporate and educational environments of all levels. My degree is in computer science however, I have done little to no coding at work. I consider myself a very patience and calm person and I believe that this helps me with job and learning. Most my learning has taken place through trial and error. Though I feel that I'm efficient at learning this way, I do believe that I will be better served learning in a classroom environment especially with projects. I haven't been in a classroom environment since 2004 but a lot of my life has changed since then as I'm much older and more mature with more responsibilities.
I believe that I'm very efficient using Windows and Mac components and office products. My favorite accessory in Windows is the Snipping tool. It has worked extremely well when creating PowerPoints, screenshot instructions and websites. I have created websites for small churches through Wix and Google Sites. I have some experience using Camtasia for creating instructions. I usually prefer windows over Mac but I like both but I also prefer Droid over the iPhone due to having the ability to customize many settings. However, I have an iPhone at the moment :)
